'The Other Mary' original

About the Art

The title, 'The Other Mary', refers to Mary Magdelene in John 12: 3: "Mary then took a an alibaster jar of very expensive perfume of pure nard, and anointed the feet of Jesus and wiped His feet with her hair; and the house was filled with the fragrance of the perfume." Mary’s anointing points to Christ’s identity as Messiah-King, but it also points to His humble position as Servant-King.  She did this to show her devotion, gratitude, and love, and to worship Jesus, saying that she believed he was the Messiah, the Son of God. Jesus saw the anointing as a preparation for his burial. She knew that she was at the feet of God and it was an act of humility and devotion.

This art piece was executed in 2019 by Tif Choate, and painted with acrylic paint on Pro-Edge canvas 36x36x1.5 inches, edges finished with secure hanging wire on the back. Signed by the artist on back, includes Certificate of Authenticity (COA).

All original paintings by Tif Choate can be shipped within the USA.  Paintings above the size 48x24 are considered “oversized” and will ship rolled in a tube. You can get this mounted at any local arts/framing store. Paintings below the size 48x24 ship mounted on a wooden frame, protected with cardboard corners, bubble wrap, craft paper, and a secure shipping box. Your painting will be shipped with a tracking number and will require a delivery signature via UPS.
